GTD-4 Goodmill Traffic Duplication functionalityity - Maximum Redundancy for Seamless Communication

Goodmill’s Traffic Duplication technology ensures maximum redundancy in communication by offering significant benefits to your network connections.

This feature is particularly valuable for communication applications that require low latency and minimal packet loss in dynamic and challenging network conditions.

How Does Traffic Duplication Work?

  1. Uplink Direction:
The Goodmill router duplicates the traffic stream and sends copies to all or multiple WAN links.
  2. Duplication Server:
When packets arrive at the Goodmill Duplication Server, only the first packet of each stream is forwarded. All other copies are discarded.
  3. Bidirectional Functionality:
This method applies to the downlink as well, making Traffic Duplication a fully bidirectional feature.

The Main Benefits

  • Minimum Packet Loss:
Redundancy is maximized by sending copies of each data packet across all links. This minimizes packet loss and reduces the need for retransmissions.
  • Lowest Latency:
The system forwards the first packet to arrive, ensuring the link with the lowest latency is always utilized—ideal for real-time applications.
  • No Switching Time:
Since all available links are active simultaneously, there’s no delay in switching between them.
  • Highest Bandwidth:
Traffic Duplication utilizes the bandwidth of the fastest available link, ensuring optimal performance.

Alternative to Mobile-IP (MIP)

Traffic Duplication can replace Mobile-IP (MIP)-based link selection by using the Goodmill Duplication Server instead of a MIP server.

Built-In Security

  • Secure Registration:
Each WAN link has its own registration session with authentication and packet encryption.
  • Optional User Traffic Encryption:
Additional end-to-end or Goodmill VPN encryption can be applied for user traffic.

Supported Link Types

Traffic Duplication works seamlessly across all WAN link types, including:
5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Satellite, and Ethernet.
